The problems of being an actor are highlighted in Life’s Too Short, a fake seven-part documentary (mockumentary) due to start on BBC Two on Thursday 10 November 2011. The focus is dwarf actor Warwick Davis, who’s career is on the slide and he is faced with a huge tax bill caused by an incompetent accountant. On top of that, his wife is trying to divorce him.

As a way of making some extra money and giving him some much needed publicity, he accepts an invitation for a film crew to document his life around the clock. In the first episode, he seeks advice from old pals Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, but Liam Neeson has beaten him to it. The film crew charts his every move as he tries to maintain his pride and self respect in some unusual situations.

In the second episode, despite an awkward appearance at a science-fiction convention, an unsuccessful money-making session with his assistant Cheryl, and a humiliating guest appearance at a Star Wars-themed wedding, his fortune stills seems to be on the rise when Johnny Depp hires him to research a new movie role.
